Come to this years University of Missouri Bradford Research Center's Tomato Festival 9th annual event on September 5th, 2013 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
The Bradford Research Center is located on the east side of Columbia and serves as a 591 acre research farm as part of the MU College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) and serves to assist MU and USDA scientists in performing various crop, soil, entomology and other disciplines research.
During the Tomato Festival, over 100 different kinds of tomatoes with various shapes and sizes, colors and flavors are put on display for sampling and judging by the public. In addition they also showcase over 60 types of peppers that range from the mild bell's to eye watering hot habaneros.
The research center also brings in experts to give informative presentations about various topics. Some of this years presenters are Dr. David Trinklein, James Quinn and Steven Kirk.
